Do you know about the rich history surrounding Viennese coffeehouses? Time and again they have been hubs for multicultural exchange, literary and philosophical discourse, and of course great sources of bean water. Be sure to order a Mélange while you're here, it is the classic Viennese coffee.
We just finished a project with a Japanese film production partner who was delighted by the coffeehouse atmosphere. Every day for nine days we visited a different coffeehouse for catering. It was a pleasant way to touch base and discuss production, but also to unwind and to absorb what this city has to offer.
Have a look at Café Westend, for instance. Hard to miss, it is located between Westbahnhof (one of Vienna's largest train stations) and Mariahilfer Straße (a popular destination for a stroll in the sun and some shopping, if you are so inclined) and it offers the classic Viennese coffeehouse feel with a few modern twists.
A new one for us was Café Diglas. A little more cosy than Westend, but right in the heart of Vienna it is easy to reach and absolute classic that you have to see while you're here.
We'd love to hear your experience with Vienna's coffeehouses. Do you have a favourite, you'd like to share? Or would you like some more information on how we can assist on your film production in Vienna? As always: Ask, and we'll take care of it.
